Tiger Woods ruined image?

So over the past week or so Tiger Woods has been in the news with allegations of having an affair with a young hostess. The media coverage started when Tiger had a car accident by his house. He had facial wounds along with a few other minor problems after the accident. Everybody wanted to know what actually the reason for the accident was, but it wasn’t until today when we all found out that Tiger Woods did indeed have an affair on his wife and seemingly destroyed his family. His wife and kids will defiantly be affected by Tigers actions and will constantly be seen in the tabloids for many weeks to come. So now that Tiger Woods destroyed his perfect image, will people understand that he is only human or will they reject him and label him as an athlete who cheated on his wife? Tiger Woods was known for being the greatest golfer of all time and knows he is faced with his image being in shambles. Will he lose sponsor deals like Michael Phillips, or is his image so powerful that this will just go away? I happen to have mixed feelings in all this because of two different reasons. The first one happens to be that Tiger Woods is human and shouldn’t be overly criticized for cheating on his wife because of who he is. This happens all the time in our society and it’s not like he did drugs or killed somebody. This is between himself and his family and we shouldn’t get in the middle of it. On the other hand, Tiger Woods is a family man and clearly knows his place in society. Cheating on your wife does show his true colors and if he wasn’t happen he could have ended his marriage before ruining his image and his family. I’d like to hear some of your opinions on this as well.

  1. I think it's hilarous that Americans (I say this because I doubt if people in Haiti, India, or Afghanistan have time to ponder about trivial stuff like this)...were behind Vick going to jail for dog fighting. But, when a man cheats on his wife (which is a form of emotional abuse) and puts his own needs above his children (emotional neglect) it is acceptable. I know his image will suffer because so much money was made off it being squeaky clean. And that's part of the game. Do I care or chose to judge him? Nope. I've always pushed supporting local leagues as opposed to professionals. Maybe this will bring people back to their communities instead of religiously following top named athletes!

  2. I agree with Yolanda on this one! It is funny how much we care about celebrities and their lives when it has nothing to do with ours. But I am torn between the situation becaseu I love Tiger and I couldnt imagine him doing this to his wife. They have been married for 5 years, have 2 kids and his father recently passed away and to top it off his wife used to be a swedish supermodel. I do not know what would possess him to cheat on his wife except maybe alcoholic reasons, but he is human people make mistakes hopefully Tiger can get his image back but he is going to have to work his ass off doing that!
