Being the best at what you do!
Let me take a step back from just simply talking about athletes acquiring a degree, but look deeper into what an athlete really stands for. A professional athlete usually spends their whole entire life playing that particular sport. When I think of sports, I usually think of people our age playing them. After watching a baseball game last night it just hit me that these are grown men playing what some may say is a kid’s game. Obviously, I knew grown men played baseball but I thought it was amazing how good these guys really are. Each athlete eats, sleeps and breaths baseball, every day of their life. Some people dream of being an athlete, but most of them don’t understand how much work these guys put into their job. To these guys baseball is a job, not a game. It’s a business in the sense that they come to work every day seeking a paycheck. So instead of reading this blog and giving me your opinion on my blog, I’m going to ask all a question instead. As your fellow classmate, I’d like to know what you excel at the most in life. It doesn’t have to necessarily be a sport, but what you think you’re great at. Thank you all

I really liked your blog and the fact that you asked everyone a question at the end of it.. It makes things a little more interesting especially the comments you will get on your blog
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question I cant really think of anything off the top of my head. I am a pretty decent student I have a 3.3 gpa. I have played sports my whole life from karate to rugby that I play currently here at Cortland. I guess if I could really give an opinion on what I think I'm great at it would be anatomy. I really love anatomy and learning about the body and the different functions of every muscle really interests me. I am pretty good with science although I never used to be. Now that i have realized what I want to do with my life, I have acquired a knack for biology.
Well, I guess I would have to say I'm a pretty good poet. In my opinion you don't have to be smart to put words together. But, you do have to be creative and willing to take risks. For example, if I were to write about a blade of grass it would be more than what you walk past everyday. I'd transform it into a instrument of foreplay...a blanket over your eternal bed...a giggly friend of the wind. You get the picture. On the other hand, I have to work really hard to write non-fiction. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy it or I won't ever be good. It just means, I'm honest enough with myself to know what I have to do.
ReplyDeleteYou make a good point with your blog in the sense that proffesional baseball players do look at playing their job and not as a sport. Also that they look for their paycheck and not just fot the enjoyment of the sport.
ReplyDeleteWhat I think I do best in life is working with kids. I love to babysit and I have always hung around my brothers and wanted to be there for them. I have always been involved with sports and never really been around television when I was younger. I was always outside playing tag and hide and seek. Thats why I want to become a Physical Education teacher. I would able to be around kids and also get to play with them and help them learn and have fun!
